This Mechanical Engineer Trainee will be hired into a 12-month, on-the-job training program to learn applicable regulations, policies, and the duties of a mechanical engineer by assisting more experienced employees in performing engineering reviews. Employees who complete the Mechanical Engineer Trainee year often move on to a higher-level engineering job title.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a one hour lunch period
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position provides technical engineering assistance in the administration of Small Business Ombudsman’s Office programs including the Small Business Pollution Prevention Assistance Account Loan and the Small Business Advantage Grant by performing technical engineering reviews of energy efficiency and pollution prevention proposals.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering; OR An Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers.
