The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Providing engineering support and services through project organization and execution. Establish and control project spending to budget by specifying and estimating project costs. Assume responsibility of leading medium size engineering projects or participates on larger projects where a team approach is utilized.
Utilizing engineering skills and knowledge of engineering concepts, procedures and methods. This includes equipment/process/facilities design work, definition of capital equipment needs, equipment fabrication, installation, pre-start up safety review, and commissioning.
Developing and leading programs to improve product and process/quality understanding
Providing manufacturing support to new product introductions, manufacturing capacity expansion, and in-sourcing products
Supporting productivity and COPQ improvements and Leading Lean Six Sigma (LSS) projects
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Four (4) combined years of experience in a private, public, government, or military environment in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing engineering, process engineering, design engineering, and/or project engineering
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline
Capital Project experience to include equipment/process/facilities design work, definition of capital equipment needs, equipment fabrication, installation, pre-start up safety review, and commissioning
Experience supporting productivity and COPQ improvements involving chemical processes
Design experience using CAD
Experience leading Lean Six Sigma (LSS) projects
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
