What you’ll do

Materials Engineering has a diverse array of career options. New graduates may support operations, external laboratories, failure investigation, materials specifications and design data generation. The new graduate may also work in a number of specialty technologies, including organic matrix composites, ceramic matrix composites, nickel alloys, light metals, steels, non-destructive testing and analysis, coatings and joining. The candidate will apply materials engineering knowledge to a variety of gas turbine engine components, and will develop an understanding of materials processing, including but not limited to casting, forging, composite and metal fabrication and powder processes.

Within this role, the new graduate will be expected to execute materials engineering projects to support manufacturing or design, including planning, experimentation and analysis. Analyze results and publish reports detailing procedure and conclusions, makes presentations on project status and milestones, and work with engineering teams to execute larger projects.

What you’ll need

Technical abilities are obviously a must, so you’ll need to be a Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or Engineering major with a focus in Materials with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0, graduating between December 2019 and August 2020. Just as importantly, you’ll have excellent communication skills and plenty of initiative. Inquisitive and resourceful, you’ll always be looking for new ways to make your mark and, because this is a rotational program, you’ll be flexible in your approach to where you’re based.

To be considered, you must also be a U.S. Citizen/Resident, Asylee, Refugee or have permanent/indefinite work authorization. There is no visa sponsorship for this position.
