Kelly Services is recruiting for a DATABASE MANAGEMENT ANALYST for a full time opportunity working in Alexandria or Baton Rouge Louisiana.
Our client will pay for relocation if someone is interested that lives outside of the area.
The Database Management Analyst will participates in the design, planning, analysis, installation, integration, security, administration, operation and support of all corporate databases to ensure they align with current technology and meet the requirements of the corporate business needs. Manages the support of the existing corporate databases and participates in assessment and transition of on-premise databases to cloud based solutions. Ensures proper tools and processes are put into place to protect the corporate data and allow for a continuous integrated business-critical environment. Emphasis is placed on planning, change management, compliance, security, and best practices. System requirements are coordinated with third party providers.
University degree in Computer Science or related field and 2-4 years Database Management experience with MS SQL Server and Oracle; or 5-7 years Database management experience with MS SQL Server and Oracle. Experience with managing corporate databases and understanding how they are integrated in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure, is preferred. A fundamental knowledge of backup and recovery tools for database solutions is required. Good foundation of procedural languages and SQL tuning is desired. Knowledge of how Identity and Access Management, Web Server and Application Server technologies, and Data Protection solutions are integrated with databases is recommended. Must be able to communicate and work effectively with Project Managers, Cloud Engineer and Middleware Analysts, Network and Security Analysts, IT Business Analysts, Desk Side Services, internal business partners, and third-party infrastructure providers. History of successful implementations/migrations and ongoing support is essential.
Participates in the design, planning, installation, integration, administration, operation and support of corporate databases to ensure they are secure, operational and reliable.
Participates in the planning and migration of on-premise database solutions to web-based database solutions.
Works in collaboration with Project Managers, IT Business Analysts, Cloud Engineers / Middleware Analysts, Network and Security Analysts, Business Partners, and third-party vendors to ensure a successful installation, upgrade or migration.
Monitors resources and tunes SQL/database environment for optimum performance.
Supports audit, backup, and business continuity efforts in all supported environments. Ensures data protection by implementing and monitoring security and backup best practices using modern tools and processes.
Understand database license structure and ensures license compliance for the various database vendor selections.
Implements automation to increase efficiency and lower human intervention and admin level of effort.
