As part of the Engineering leadership team, you will be responsible for leading major engineering programs and coordinating your team to deliver excellent products into the market. You will partner with multiple highly motivated and hardworking functional leaders and collaborate with extraordinary customers.
Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and related industry and plumbing specifications
Support new product development and launches in accordance to Delta established stage gate process and standard methodologies
Staff engineering resources to execute projects on time, on budget and to product/customer specifications within area of responsibility
Lead product development, implementation, maintenance, cost reduction, quality improvement, department procedure, and performance reporting
Resolve and direct appropriate level of engineering support for new product marketing needs, manufacturing, quality and supply chain functions within the organization, and assist as needed with quality and purchasing functions to resolve vendor related issues
Work with other departments and management to assist with product category & technology strategy, product planning, and project status communication
Provide intellectual property awareness, knowledge and disclosure wherever appropriate to protect company interest and avoid infringement of others
Analyze work, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects with an eye for business and capabilities perspective
Actively develop and maintain a high‐performing technical staff, complete performance evaluations, goal setting, and personal development plans for direct reports
Assess new product and manufacturing technologies for possible integration into existing products and manufacturing processes
Develop, implement and maintain standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department
Foster climate of design excellence
Education & Experience:
Hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
Have 10-15 years of forward-thinking responsible experience in Engineering or in technical roles related to product development, manufacturing & operations
Demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude, product development experience, discernment approach to problem solving and familiarity with Delta or like products
Possess engineering design and manufacturing experience with similar product processes used in our facilities and at supplier’s locations
Express strong dedication toward success in new product categories
Shown ability to be a “self-starter” with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Articulate strong relational skills and the ability to communicate successfully across all levels of the organization
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and ability to handle a variety of tasks
Show a bias for action and sense of urgency
