If so, join the team that designs and builds solar arrays for spacecraft! This critical component includes program phases progressing from initial concept development through design, build, test, and flight. Our team supports all lines of business at Lockheed Martin which means you could be designing solar arrays that power the next mission to Mars or the next generation of GPS satellites that protect and defend our nation.
You will work under the direction of other solar array engineering personnel in developing detailed solar array designs and be able to generate and release drawings using CAD software. You will work on multiple integrated product teams, reciprocally interacting with other engineers, manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and customers. You will represent the organization in design reviews, readiness reviews, and review boards.
- BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline plus at least 2 years of related experience; or MS plus at least 3 years of experience
- Knowledge of mechanical CAD modeling and drafting
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Willing to travel when required.
- Background in composite structures
- Experience designing solar arrays
- Background in mechanisms design
- User of CREO/CAD software
- Familiar with releasing drawings in EPDM 9.1
- MRB trained and certified
- CPE or CPE delegate experience
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Proven communication and presentation and skills with technical and non-technical audiences
