About the role:
R&D Engineers at Boston Scientific drive and implement continuous improvement throughout the business. The department works cross-functionally across the plant to eliminate waste and improve product, material and information flow through production, new product development, and business processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop and apply lean tools knowledge such as line balancing, mistake proofing, value stream mapping, changeover reduction, statistical data analysis, pull systems, standard work, line flow design
Develop and apply knowledge of product design, production, and business processes to identify improvement opportunities across the value stream
Lead projects requiring problem solving or process improvement roadmaps and tools
Coordinate and lead cross-functional workstation and line design projects to reduce work content, improve line flow, and optimize space requirements for equipment and people
Promote lean culture and operational excellence principles across site
Establish labor standards for product costing
Facilitate Lean training for employees at all levels and departments
Continually build and apply technical knowledge discovered through benchmarking and continuing education opportunities
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Engineering degree
Demonstrated knowledge of Lean practices
Ability to demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality in all actions, by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
