Job Advert:
The Technical Service Engineer (TSE) will plan, organize and deliver a differentiated level of technical service to customers and target prospects for Global Marine and Energy (GME) customers.

Responsible for providing support to sales direct/B2B customers within an area of technical expertise, optimising the use of tools and applying technical knowledge to support client-based service needs. The scope of the role will influence the grade – this can include financial accountability, geographical scope, leadership responsibilities and overall level of responsibility.

The role coordinates the activities of a technical services team, under the guidance of the Senior Technical Services Engineer, in order to effectively deliver and maintain a high level of technical customer service. The role will also guide ongoing review and measurement of technical support for key customers to allow value playback during tender response and pricing discussions. As a consultant to Castrol’s high value customers, this role is the one stop shop for complex lubricant questions and applications needs.

The territory includes Greece, Cyprus, Balkans, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Turkey and Africa. The ideal candidate will be located in the Athens area and will likely be office based.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Required.
Degree in Marine Engineering (Class 1, 2, 3 or Chief Engineer) preferred.
Experience and job requirements

Ability to develop, maintain and build new relationships with customers, OEMs and industry bodies.
Understanding of shipping, oil & gas market and global dynamics, trends, regulatory environment is desirable.
3 years minimum experience in Oil & Gas Industry equipment maintenance, Marine Engineering (Class 2 or above) or reliability engineering management (including equipment maintenance and reliability lead experience preferably in Marine, Oil & Gas or Power Gen industry.
Experience working with Lubricants on a ship and/or experience with Used Oil Analysis (UOA) programs.
Condition based maintenance experience.
Ability to drive customer responsiveness and insight, with the flexibility of thought and action to be able to respond to changing market environments and dynamic business situations.
Proven abilities of dealing with and influencing multiple internal and external stakeholders both within and outside the organisation is essential for success in this role.
Customer oriented mind-set and the ability to deal promptly with customer’s inquiries and solve complex technical problems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; solid computer skills including Windows, MS Office,etc.
Languages required: Native Greek speaking, fluent English speaking. Other languages: Spanish speaking preferred.
Desirable criteria & qualifications

B2B technical sales experience an advantage; proven experience in the Lubricants and/or Marine industry with a marine engineering background and previous 'customer facing' experience.
Expert understanding of marine engineering practice, procedure and principles aligned to the maintenance of ships engineering plants.
