The Product Engineer will work with the Design Team to develop new product and refresh existing models taking a concept, from an idea, to reality. This position will require performing the following duties and reports to the VP of Engineering

Essential Job Functions
Develop the boat mechanical systems and produce documentation to support the Product Development Process. Plumbing Layout Drawings, Electrical Schematics, Assembly Drawings and Work Instructions

Identifies potential problems with design and resolves these issues before plugs
and prototypes are built
Insures the manufacturability of new products checking for tolerances, mechanical, electrical and plumbing layouts.
Provides vendors with drawings for new or existing purchase parts.
Works in conjunction with the rest of the engineering team to insure good communication to the rest of the organization
Strong Mechanical Reasoning;

Experience with Hardware Manufacturing, Marine Systems and Installation
Hands on experience with Fiberglass Boat Manufacturing
Boatbuilding Experience
A personal interest in boating and boating lifestyle
Ability to handle multitasking with minimal micromanagement

Education and Experience
Candidate must have a College degree in a relevant field and at least five years' experience in the marine industry in a design capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical data. Understand the fundamentals of solid geometry, draft angles, and algebra. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills
Highly competent in the use of a 3D and 2D modeling programs such as Solidworks

Ability to communicate effectively using Microsoft Office
