ERG is seeking entry level risk assessment and process evaluation project support. This full-time position is located at a federal site in Indian Head, Maryland. Indian Head is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Evaluate facility construction, demolition, and equipment projects for potential environmental and safety impacts.
Perform basic chemical engineering calculations that support process design, equipment configuration and process condition establishment decisions.
Formulate industrial risk mitigation strategies.
Prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other technical documentation.
Interact with technical customers to provide process engineering and safety support.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
0-3 years of experience.
Minimum GPA of 3.0 (college transcripts required).
Strong writing and communication skills.
Competence using spreadsheet and database software to compile, analyze, and present data.
Strong time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
Demonstrated interest or direct experience in environmental science.
Knowledge and/or an understanding of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and programs, particularly the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
Coursework in or experience developing risk assessments.
