We are seeking a Satellite Communications Engineer to support the GMD Secure Communications Operations and Maintenance contract at Fort Greely, Alaska to support our mission critical customer.
What you'll do...
You will perform Operations and Maintenance (O&M) on SATCOM equipment to include replacement of circuit cards or major subassemblies
You will perform MILSTAR O&M
You will perform component level work (down to the lowest replaceable unit (LRU)) as necessary
You will perform all Operations and Maintenance (O&M) actions IAW all Technical Manuals
You will maintain a Master Station Log IAW DISA Circular 310-D70-30, chapter 12
You will perform Crypto device updates and perform CRO duties
You will operate and maintain GT3CS terminals
You will perform Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance
You will perform Operator Maintenance on HVAC, Generator, and assist with HEMP Power System (HPS) maintenance after enough OJT
You will maintain Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)
You will perform ancillary training tasks
You will perform analysis of SATCOM equipment performance and assess potential impacts to system Ao and Ro
You will participate in engineering solutions for new equipment installations, surveys, and site surveys
You will creste technical drawings and circuit drawings
You will assist the Node Site Coordinator with circuit drawings and SAAs
You will perform DRSN O&M when needed
You will perform other duties assigned by the MILSATCOM supervisor
You’d be a great fit if… You have Satellite Communications Military Technical Training Course or MILSTAR Military Technical Training Course or both You Possess Two years post-secondary/AA-AS Degree plus 2+ years’ experience You have a current IAT Level II certification (Sec+ min.) with continuing education, Peraton will send candidate to a bootcamp for Sec+ and Pay for successful completion (passing) of the exam. You have Computing Environment Certification You possess an active/current Secret Security Clearance
It’d be even better if you… Have 2 – 4 years’ experience working hands on with a SATCOM (preferably a 52 and MILSTAR) Have Linux and Windows Computing Environment certification is a plus Possess knowledge of SATCOM theory and industry standards. Have sufficient knowledge of SATCOM system equipment maintenance procedures, policies, and requirements for SATCOM terminals outside the prescribed assets mentioned in the job req. Possess knowledge of DISA Pacific practices and policies Have 2 – 4- years’ experience in SATCOM working on C-Band terminals.
