On-Board PMO is hiring for a full-time permanent CAD Tooling Designer in Valley View, Ohio!
Basic Function: To provide tooling design and engineering documentation services for all company Valley View manufacturing needs.
Responsibilities: include the following (other duties may be assigned).
Provide tooling, gauging, and fixturing design engineering documentation support for all manufacturing activities, using SolidWorks Engineering CAD application software.
Provide accurate, reverse engineering services for existing, undocumented, durable tooling, gauging, fixturing and consumable cutting tools.
Provide design and detailed drafting documentation support for new tooling, fixturing, and gauging needs required by applications and manufacturing engineers, in conformance with all documentation standards.
Provide routine plant-wide engineering documentation distribution and control services, including: plotting, copying, and filing of internal tooling and engineering documents.
Organization Relationships: Works regularly with shift production employees as well as leadership.
Must have at least 2 yrs work experience using SolidWorks, 4 yrs preferred. Unigraphics experience is a plus
Proficiency using a major solids-based engineering design and drafting software application running on a Windows-based engineering workstation. Proficient with SolidWorks Professional Modeling and Drafting application software.
Working knowledge of 2-D & 3-D CAD drafting functions, including: object creation, editing, layer control, drawing layout, ANSI feature dimensioning & symbols, ANSI Y14.5M geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and blueprint reading. Working knowledge and experience in creating 3-D solids models.
Working knowledge and experience in designing machine tooling, machine fixturing, functional gauging, and cutting tools for the metal forming industry. This includes knowledge of basic metrology and measuring devices for reverse engineering functions and basic tooling materials.
Basic math, trigonometry and algebra skills required. In addition, good oral and written communications are required. Must have experience using MS Office applications, and e-mail applications). \
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is also occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit. In addition, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds/55 max. CAD Tooling Designers work primarily in the engineering office area. However, frequent trips are required to the manufacturing floor to collect information for work assignments. Job hazards are mostly limited to the office environment. When visiting plant work cell locations, exposure to plant hazards are possible and all safety precautions must be observed, including personal protective equipment (safety glasses and safety shoes).
Compensation: $25.50/hr. Benefits: Eligible for complete benefits package after Probationary period Schedule: 1st shift (6 am-2:30 pm) + mandatory OT
Additional Site Information: Clean and climate-controlled environment (72F all year long) Site is smoke/tobacco free 8 hour shift – 2 x 15 min breaks and 1 x 30 minute lunch Overtime is mandatory. On-Board pays for safety shoes wear. 10 paid holidays – Eligible after 5 weeks of employment. Vacation: 1 week after 1 year of employment.
