About the job
The Google Software Engineering Apprenticeship is a 20-month program offering training and development to individuals looking to start a career in this area. We aim to build a pipeline for the next generation of software engineers across the industry, actively bridging the gap between technical employment and education.
You’ll be assigned to a team and manager for the duration of your 20-month apprenticeship. The program can include 2-3 rotations and you will be supported day-to-day by a host for each of them. You will start in October 2021 with a 8-week bootcamp with our academic partner. After completing your initial training, your time will be split between external training and practical work experience.
While at Google, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of Googlers (yes, that’s people working at Google!) to solve real life problems and get paid in the process. You will get exposure to a range of different roles across the company including coding, development, testing and project management. Additionally, you will learn how to apply problem solving skills to real life challenges, pick up new technical skills such as programming in multiple languages, learn about software testing and other industry practices and see how software is designed and developed.
We will equip you with everything you need to know to make a meaningful impact as a software development apprentice at Google. You will be mentored and trained in a wide range of technologies, coding languages, internal systems and tools. Your work will stand alongside that of other Googler engineers, making a real difference to users around the world.
Google aspires to be an organization that reflects the globally diverse audience that our search engine and tools serve. We believe that in addition to hiring the best talent, a diversity of perspectives, ideas and cultures leads to the creation of better products and services.
