This is a Remote role.
Deliver high quality software and technical solutions in an agile environment to meet internal Sysco business partner and end customer requirements. Works across the full stack and possesses a flexible mindset and passion for programming. In this hands-on role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with other developers, business analysts, business stakeholders, project managers, customers and 3rd party vendors to understand the requirements, formulate technical designs, and implement solutions that meet business expectations. This role will also provide development support for production systems and applications.
Formulate and devise technical solutions for problems reported related to Sysco Canada applications
Provide second level application support and technical assistance and respond to application errors on an on-call basis
Work alongside other developers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices like Test-Driven development, code reviews, static code analysis and secure coding
Adherence to architecture standards and audit requirements
Develop and execute unit tests to ensure business/customer requirements are delivered
High level of innovation and creative thinking to provide recommendations for continuous improvement
Monitor incident intake application to pick up incidents according to schedule and regularly update incident status notes
Participate in weekly meetings and calls
Create ad hoc reports as requested
Will be required to program using AS400 – RPG/400, ILE RPG CLP, DB2 and SQL
Diploma or Certificate in IT/Computer Science, or related field
3+ years of programming experience in AS400 skills such as – RPG/400, ILE RPG, CL ILE and knowledge of DB2 and SQL is a must
Experience with other development languages or scripts is a plus
Advanced problem solving and logic skills required
Excellent customer service and time management skills
Extremely detail-oriented, fast learner and the ability to handle multiple tasks
Ability to work in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate with all levels within the Sysco organization in a professional manner
Experience in a distribution/logistical environment is preferred
Exposure to core ERP modules such as Sales/Purchasing/Finance/Inventory would be preferred
Familiarity with change management tools such as Aldon/Hawkeye/MDCMS would be an asset
Experience working with interface tools/protocols such as EDI/MQ/SFTP/AS2 is an asset
Requires flexibility in hours
