The Software Developer is an important member of the Technology Team in advancing tools and solutions to support the Company’s progress towards NetZero by 2050. The Software Developer will develop, enhance and maintain software as part of the VGS Technology Team. This team member will collaborate with members of business units to understand their goals and work with them to apply technology to meet their goals. This position will also be responsible for developing or implementing new software programs and solutions, and supporting the organization on software development and other technical requests, with the oversight of the Technology Manager.
WHAT ARE THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION?
Works with end users and stakeholders to develop and maintain VGS software systems using programming languages, tools and frameworks.
Works with the Technology Manager, other IT staff, or consultants to develop new systems and enhance and maintain existing ones.
Provides technical documentation of work for future reference.
Actively promotes cross department consensus regarding new features and bug fixes for VGS software systems.
Actively learns new technologies and present those ideas to the Technology Team
Participates in the management of relevant vendor relationships
Works with, and in some cases manages, contractors and consultants on software development or implementation projects.
Provides tier 3 support on applicable software systems and collaborates with other members of the Technology Team in providing general troubleshooting assistance to the Technology Team as needed.
Other duties as may be required or requested.

Experience with integration tools such as Talend, web/mobile development frameworks such as Vue, React or Ionic, Python, SQL, AWS including Amplify.

A degree in computer science/software engineering or an industry relevant software development certificate/bootcamp or relative software development experience.
