Job Overview: Engineer (On-site)*
Responsible for maintaining compliance with environmental and regulatory programs at Lockhart Power Company for ten regulated facilities. Implements programs and procedures to ensure observance of all environmental regulations, codes, standards, and licenses with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Assists Chief Dam Safety Engineer with conducting and providing oversight of dam safety inspections, instrumentation, monitoring, and tracking and resolving findings from internal and FERC inspections of the FERC-regulated dams. Ensures timely and accurate submission of filings and reports to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC), Public Service Commission (PSC), Office of Regulatory Staff (ORS), FERC, and EPA.

Responsibilities and Duties:*
- Works with the operations team and contract engineers to monitor and collect data in support of compliance and reporting.
- Analyzes and interprets engineering data and writes detailed reports reflective of collected and evaluated data.
- Meets timely filing requirements for all applicable licenses and regulatory permits by location.
- Ensures all state and federal regulations are followed and locations are operated in accordance with such regulations.
- Coordinates site interactions with all government regulators associated with inspections, permits, and reporting.
- Engages with governmental agencies and community committees to resolve issues in a professional manner.
- Assists Chief Dam Safety Engineer with dam safety issues.
- Develops and manages a budget for location projects.

Minimum Education:*
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited college or university

Minimum Experience:*
- No experience required
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience preferred

Certifications & Licenses:*
- Engineering in Training (EIT) or pursuing EIT within the first year of employment, and obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license within four years of employment is required; PE License is preferred
- Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements:*
Possess close visual acuity, acuity to determine the accuracy of work, and acuity to operate machines, motor vehicles and heavy equipment, ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, balance, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, repetitive motion, and exert up to 50lbs of force occasionally, 20lbs frequently, and 10lbs constantly.

Working Conditions:*
Subject to activities inside and outside, extreme cold and extreme heat for more than one hour, sufficient noise to cause shouting to be heard above the ambient noise level, vibration, hazards such as moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working in high places, exposure to high heat or chemicals, subject to fumes, odors, gases, dust, oils, and working in close quarters and narrow aisles or passageways.

Pay: $70,000 to $78,000 depending upon education and experience
