Minimum Qualifications:
Band 1-Associate, entry level
Band 2-minimum two (2) years of related engineering experience
Band 3-minimum eight (8) years of related engineering experience
Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field (i.e., Materials Science Engineering, Welding Engineering or related Engineering field),3.0 GPA or Above

Willingness to obtain, within 3 years, any credential requirements- Certified owner-user inspector.

Preferred Skills

Basic knowledge of engineering principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

NOTE: This position is in-person and will require relocation to Corpus Christi, Texas.
Job Duties:
- Review new piping and equipment systems for proper metallurgical selection, based on need, practicality of installation and economics.

Review existing piping and equipment for adequacy of the metallurgical design, making recommendation for upgrades when necessary.

Analyze metallurgical failures due to corrosion or cracking and make recommendations for upgrades as necessary.

Review fluid compositions and determine impacts to piping and equipment based on the metallurgy.

Review industry and CITGO experience with metallurgical failures and apply the lessons to the piping and equipment in the refinery.

Provide analysis reports.

Supports the metallurgical reviews with multiple departments upon the request

Provide oversight, technical input and guidance to the inspectors.

Working with unit inspectors, provide inspection analysis, reports and plans to the Manager of Reliability.

Participate in the lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).

Provide specifications, evaluation, and selection of materials for equipment and piping.
