Position Summary:
A Senior Product Engineer performs engineering work and applied research, development, and design of new products. Develops filter solutions in power quality. Advances modeling and simulation tools to achieve an integrated environment with a high level of lab test correlation. Work includes design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electrical equipment. Provides technical leadership within the engineering organization.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Essential Dutiesinclude the following.Other duties may be assigned.
Business Partnering
Ø Assist in development of validation testing of prototype designs
Performance, Metrics & Reporting
Ø Develop advanced technology magnetic concepts and products for harmonic filters and motor protection filters for AC drive and power electronics applications.
Ø Design of power distribution units (PDUs) with multiple transformer outputs designed to distribute electric power, especially in medical imaging, military-aerospace test equipment and flight simulation.
Ø Consider optimal electrical component selection and layout. This includes thermal considerations, regulatory considerations, and design for manufacturability.
Ø Translate Customer technical requirements into cost effective electrical designs in accordance with appropriate standards and regulatory requirements
Ø Guide the mechanical design of magnetic components, filters and PDUs.
Ø Identify and refine engineering models and tools to facilitate practical and effective magnetic component designs.
Ø Recommend product improvements and cost reductions.
Ø Provide support for existing products and customer specials
People Management & Employee Development
Ø Provide guidance and direction for support resources including Designers and Lab Technicians.
Knowledge, Skills & Experiences
The ideal candidate for the Sr. Product Engineer position will have the following educational background and experience:
Education/Certifications
Ø Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience
Ø At least 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering
Qualifications
Ø Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Ø Proficient in Ansys Maxwell a plus
Ø Proficient in Ansys Simplorer a plus
Ø Proficient in Optimized Program Service LLC., Transformer Design Software a plus
