Overview:As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will provide primary support to the protective coating process at our two manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Technical expert/resource for surface preparation of steels, aluminums and galvanized metals
- Technical expert/resource for solvent-based, water-based and powder coat paint systems
- Troubleshooting and identifying root cause of paint defects relating to substrate, wash, paint and curing
- Knowledge of coating performance testing relating to corrosion, weathering, adhesion, etc.
- Assist with the paint system specification based on required coating performance and product environment
- Lead the development of in-house paint process parameters and standards for new coating systems
- Investigation and validation on new technologies to improve coating performance and reduce operational costs
- Design, coordinate and document all applicable paint testing
- Design and implementation of manufacturing improvements
- Preventative maintenance procedures
- Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) activities
- Research and specification of new capital equipment
- Problem solving efforts using A3 thinking
- Support non-paint engineering initiatives as needed
Qualifications:EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a process engineering role
- Preferred 2 years with powder coat and/or liquid paint experience

- Demonstrated computer skills with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Creo
- Excellent written and oral communication
