PenTeleData, a leader in data transport technologies, is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, implement, maintain and administer software and systems that facilitate both internal PenTeleData operations and the services provided to our customers. This highly skilled specialist will work closely with PenTeleData management and other departments to develop software that will enhance the services we offer to our customers and partners.
Some responsibilities of the Software Engineer will be:

Working with various departments to compile ideas for needed software and shape these concepts into cohesive designs
- Implementing these designs and fully documenting their development and function
- Providing training and support to all PenTeleData employees and partners on systems developed and maintained by this position
- Regularly working with other departments to interface technologies and software, designed and maintained by this position, with existing and new systems at PenTeleData
Qualifications:

Minimum 2-year degree in Computer Science or Application Programming; 4-year degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred
- Basic to intermediate level of networking knowledge with regard to service provider networks or large enterprise networks
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Access and Word
- Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP a plus
- Understanding of telephony technologies a plus
- Understanding and real-world implementation of CI/CD systems
- Experience with Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS)
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Experience with Docker a plus
- Familiarity developing and interacting with RESTful API's
- Exceptional People Skills – ability to work comfortably with all personalities
- Exceptional Customer Service Skills
- Exceptional Communication Skills – oral and written
- Strong Python, Java and XML Skills
- Logical Thinking and Organizational Skills (ability to organize large amounts of data in a logical fashion)

- Ability to document all work both in source code and in formal documentation
- Ability to be on-call during off-work hours
