Rotating Weekly:
- Sunday - Thursday (Sunday 7:30pm-6am, Mon-Thur 7pm-3:30am)
- Monday - Friday (Mon-Thur 9:30pm-6am, Friday 7:30pm-6am)
Approximately 10% of the job function is performed in an office setting. 90% of the job function is required in the plant. There is exposure to warm temperatures, humidity operating machinery, and a production/assembly environment.
You must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and managers. You have knowledge of manufacturing assembly systems, a deep understanding of mechatronics, as well as exceptional interpersonal, and organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and maintain existing control systems and implement new projects to upgrade controls
- Responsible for machine maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive steps to keep machinery working, including designing and suggesting maintenance care plans
- Conduct controls related training
- Conduct frequent machine capacity analysis
- Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects including work on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and robotics systems
- Provide guidance for troubleshooting, modification, installation and commissioning of control and instrumentation systems and equipment
- Respond to any major occurrence of plant breakdown, carry out prompt inspection, analyze the fault, repair and re-commission affected equipment so as to assure the minimum loss of production
- Participate in conversations with production staff on Automation & Control related topics and issues
- Assist production in continuous process optimization of automated lines
- Generate, modify, and approve electrical schematics created in house or external
- Assist in risk assessments and implement findings
- Responsible for backing up and maintaining equipment programs
- Debug and optimize automated processes to maximize cycle time and uptime
- Debug and implement corrective actions for breakdowns and chronic equipment failure
- Act as liaison to IT department for Manufacturing Execution Systems during troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Be competent and familiar with Fanuc robot programming and/or integration with external control systems
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology, Automation Engineering, Industrial Controls or related field
- 3+ years of experience as a hands-on Automation & Control Engineer or Robotics Engineer working on automation and/or electromechanical systems
- Ability to read PLC logic, HMI programs, plant networks (Ethernet, DeviceNet, etc)
- Ability to read, revise and create new schematics (electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic)
- Must be proficient in PLC programs, troubleshooting, and configuration (Siemens Step 7 TIA Portal, Beckhoff)
- Experience with Python, equivalent High-Level programming language
- Experience with robot programming (Fanuc), backup, and restoration
- Experience with SQL, scripting, creating various reports, and utilization of database tools
- Experience with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical for developing electrical schematics
- Experience presenting technical programs with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of production quality metrics and LEAN methodology

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
