The Marine Engineer receives technical guidance and training from the more experienced technical staff to which the individual is assigned and applies basic knowledge of marine engineering to perform routine analyses and prepare basic marine engineering deliverables in support of the design of ships, craft, and other floating structures.
This position is contingent on your ability to obtain, maintain, and transfer your secret clearance Post Employment
In this position you will:
Apply basic marine engineering knowledge in accordance with applicable regulatory body rules, regulations, and industry standards to develop analyses and products in one or more of the following technical areas:
- Participate in the development and validation of design and engineering requirements, preparation of specifications, and provides inputs to technical reports and presentations.
- Provide concept and feasibility design studies addressing whole ship sizing and performance analyses, requirements validation, and design optimization

Perform design integration, coordinating inputs from various marine engineering and other engineering disciplines, such as naval architecture and structures, into balanced, closed solution designs to establish principal characteristics and design features such as length, beam, depth, draft, displacement, speed, and other performance parameters.

Provide concept and feasibility design studies of auxiliary systems including pumping and distribution for fuel, seawater, fresh water, and fluid systems.

Provide concept and feasibility design studies for equipment including refrigeration units, pumps, motors, and HVAC systems.

Make machinery arrangements and configurations, developing requirements for area and volume, preparing overall machinery arrangement concepts and drawings illustrating primary functional allocation of spaces within the ship considering location and adjacency constraints, performing special studies including access and maintenance analyses, assisting in detailed layouts of machinery spaces.

Assist with the review of design proposals and specifications.

Participate in scheduled project review sessions and meetings with representatives from other engineering disciplines and customers on technical and engineering issues.
- Assist in preparing documentation, reports, and project plans to describe activities planned and accomplished, status reports, letters, memoranda, messages, and contact reports.

Assist with preparation and presentation of formal briefings and staff seminars

Comply with all corporate policies and procedures, including quality assurance and security procedures, in the performance of duties.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, you will have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or related engineering field such as Ocean Engineering, or equivalent in training and experience, entry level.

0-2 years of experience in a related field.

Ability to obtain a security clearance Post Employment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated experience collaborating in a team environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with complex technical issues.
-
10% travel required.
